Reports of Antisocial Driving in Britannia Car Park, Tadcaster |
||
|
North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information following reports of antisocial driving taking place within the Britannia Car Park in Tadcaster.
Concerns have been raised by members of the public that a small number of motorists are using the car park as a “mini race track”, engaging in dangerous manoeuvres and irresponsible driving behaviour. This type of activity will not be tolerated.
Officers would like to remind drivers of the legislation surrounding Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002.
What a Section 59 warning meansIn some cases, vehicles may be destroyed if not collected within the legal time-frame.
We want to reassure the public that this area is already being actively patrolled by local Neighbourhood Policing officers, and further targeted patrols will continue.
Anyone who witnesses antisocial driving, or has information that could help identify those responsible is encouraged to report it to North Yorkshire Police on 101, or online via the North Yorkshire Police website.
